Editorial Standards

Editorial Policy

How we research, write, review, and correct content (and how we use AI tools) so you always know where our information comes from.

Last reviewed:

1. Data accuracy

All game data on FortniteHub (item shop prices, cosmetic details, weapon stats, map POIs) originates from the official Fortnite API (fortnite-api.com). We snapshot this data daily at 00:05 UTC, immediately after the item shop resets. Pages serve our own snapshot, not live API calls, so load times are fast and pages remain stable during upstream downtime.

We retain a full history of daily shop rotations. Appearance counts and last-seen dates are computed from this archive, not estimated. If a count appears incorrect, use the correction form below.

2. Editorial content

Opinion and analysis content (tier lists, meta breakdowns, FNCS previews, seasonal reviews) is always written under a named author byline. Authors are listed on the Authors page with their expertise and content lane. We do not publish anonymous opinion content.

Factual data pages (item shop, cosmetics, weapons, map) carry no author byline because the content is sourced directly from the API snapshot. The responsible party for data accuracy is theFortniteHub editorial team collectively.

3. AI assistance and disclosure

FortniteHub uses AI language models to assist with drafting and structuring certain editorial content. We are transparent about this: any content that uses AI assistance undergoes a mandatory human review and editing pass before publication. A human editor with Fortnite expertise is accountable for every published piece.

AI-assisted content is not published without human approval. The editorial pipeline enforces a human publish gate: no AI-drafted content goes live without a named editor reviewing accuracy, tone, and factual grounding. This gate ships in Phase 4 of our platform build and is documented in our internal ADR log.

AI tools are not used to fabricate stats, invent patch note details, or generate cosmetic descriptions without API source data. If AI text is used, it is grounded in the same snapshot data every other page uses.

4. Editorial independence

FortniteHub is not affiliated with Epic Games. Fortnite, Battle Royale, and related marks are trademarks of Epic Games, Inc. We are an independent fan-operated site. Coverage decisions are made by the editorial team based on relevance and player demand, not advertiser relationships.

If the site carries advertising or affiliate links in the future, sponsored content will be clearly labeled as such and kept separate from editorial.

5. Corrections and updates

We correct errors as quickly as possible. Data errors (wrong price, wrong appearance count, stale stat) are usually resolved within 24 hours of our next data snapshot. Editorial errors (incorrect factual claims in articles) are corrected with a visible note on the affected page showing the original error and the correction.

To report an error, use the feedback link in the site footer or contact the editorial team at the address listed on the About page.

6. Policy versioning

This policy is reviewed at least once per quarter and whenever a significant change in our editorial process occurs (new AI tooling, new content types, or changes to the human review workflow). The last-reviewed date above is updated on each revision.
