Fortnite OG Map

The OG map is the original Chapter 1 island: the single circular landmass that every Fortnite match was played on from 2017 to the end of 2019. When Epic brought back Fortnite OG, it reset the game to this island and let it evolve week by week through the old Chapter 1 seasons, starting from Season 5. The tile above is that Season 5 build, the version most players picture when they say OG map: Paradise Palms in the desert to the southeast, Lazy Links up north, and the dirt racetrack carved in beside the dunes.

Fortnite OG is not a one-time event. It is a permanent mode that keeps rolling forward through Chapter 1, so the live island shifts as the seasons cycle. As of the current OG season, Chapter 1 Season 9, the northern towns have been rebuilt into their futuristic forms, with Tilted Towers becoming Neo Tilted and Retail Row becoming Mega Mall. The classic Season 5 layout shown here is the reference point that started that run.

Tilted Towers sits dead center: a dense tower block of high rises and a clock tower that became the most contested drop in the game. Just north of it, Loot Lake is the wide open water that anchored some of Fortnite's biggest live events. Retail Row and Salty Springs gave mid map fights their shape, while Pleasant Park in the northwest was the go to landing for full team drops.

Around the edges are the locations that gave the island its character: Lucky Landing and its single pink tree in the far south, Junk Junction and Haunted Hills tucked into the northwest corner, Lonely Lodge and its wooden watchtower on the east coast, and Dusty Divot, the crater left behind when the Season 4 meteor finally struck. Paradise Palms, the desert town added in Season 5, replaced the old Moisty Mire swamp and marked the first big reshaping of the original map.

Fortnite OG rebuilt the Chapter 1 island close to its original form, but not every detail came back. Some spots that appeared in later Chapter 1 seasons, and a handful of one off event structures, were left out or simplified. The core drop spots that players remember, though, are all here and playable, which is why the mode drew record player counts when it launched.

The biggest change is that the map does not stand still. Because Fortnite OG advances through the seasons, the same island you see here keeps transforming: the volcano era, the futuristic season, and the map altering live events all return in order.
